Tall Poppy Syndrome at SXC

People with Tall Poppy Syndrome cut down those they feel are doing better than themselves. It is immature and pointless and leaves a sour taste in the mouth of those trying to help others. The rating system at SXC is falling prey to these people and destroys the meaning and spirit of this website, which is to help others.

Over the past few years I have been travelling and living overseas quite extensively. I've accumulated over 15,000 digital images and my New Year's resolution was to extend my gallery of just 32 photos at the end of 2006, to something a little more substantial.

Macro Photography ...

I've spent most of my photographic life using the fastest and biggest zoom lens I could find, as my real passion is wildlife photography. I love the challenge of cropping in as close as I can to capture the real character of an animal. Without a zoom lens this isn't always the most safest or wisest of occupations. But secretly I've always wanted to try macro photography. Not just recording the expression in an animal's eye, but getting right up his nose, literally.
