NOISE BUSTER!

posted by pixelbase, Dec 13, 2008 8:20 PM — 2 comments

Here's a quick and dirty way to get rid of color noise. (That's the nasty variety that mostly messes up the shadows.)

No expensive filters, or plug-ins required!

First, just duplicate your noisy background layer.

Second, select Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur, and blur it until all the colors run together and you can't see the details any more.

Third, switch the Blend Mode to Color.

The results: Noise goes, detail stays.

Try it. You might like it.
