1. posted by dlritter, Apr 4, 2009 12:51 AMIt usually takes a while before a new SXC uploader gets the hang of "stock photos".
Try to not be discouraged by the rejections.
Even if your photos are perfect as "photos" they may not be good stock images.
The best way to learn is to only upload one or two photos at a time. This way you will not be so discouraged when several are rejected at once.
On "bad" images already existing in SXC. The standards for stock images have changed a lot over the past six or seven years that SXC has existed. There are many images that were accepted in the early days of SXC that would be rejected if they were submitted now.
One thing that helps many people starting at SXC is to upload a few images to a flickr account and then post the urls for these images in the "Photo critiques" forum.
Then SXC users can comment on your images and give you more detailed feedback than you see in the standard rejection messages.
The SXC admins and image approvers have far too many images to go though to give individual rejected images detailed comments.
Try to take their comments as ways to improve your style and technique.
I hope this is helpful...
Dave

Hi there!
Your photo of the Little girl by window is truly inspiring. I would like to use this picture for a website specializing in publishing quality e-books for parents and children up to 11 years of age.
My website is http://www.brainycon- nections.com/
Thank you,

Hi, I'm setting up a new website for linking up families/carers of people with disabilities and want to use your photo: Family tickling each other on one of the pages (It would be the photo that accompanies the "Families Journeys" page. Would you permit that?
Many thanks!
