Things to do in Provence when you're bored

Picture the novelist seeking peace and quiet in southern France to work on his next opus. No TV, no internet connection, no disturbances ... It's enough to drive anyone crazy. Luckily, I brought my Canon. Thank you, sxc, the thought of uploading pictures kept me going.

I think I worked something like four or five hours on this tin. It's actually a box of lentils, and I just turned the label inside out. On the original shot, you can still se the contour of the letters from the other side.

This poppy is really one of my favourite shots from the France series. But the rose bundled with it seems to be more popular for some reason.

Photographing poppies turned out to be quite a challenge. They're usually long and thin, and easily moved by the wind. The petals here are this close because of the wind coming from the 'right' side of the flower.
