The first

#2. As a novice I beg you. ;)

i've been using photoshop for years, but i think for the fundamentals of many more tutorials, you're better of doing number 2. when i first started out, learning levels really changed my perspective on how to do sooo many things in ps. it's good! if you don't write it, I will haha

Tough one. Both are good ideas.

I look forward to reading and learning from both.

I vote the second one, its more advanced and its hard to find good tutorials on topics like that. The first topic is pretty straight forward.

Great tutorials, I learned alot eventhough I use paint shop pro X instead of Photoshop, I could still use all the things you showed.

I think ill start working on #2 and closely followed by #1. I agree that #1 is fairly basic for most photographers, but since in my experiance SXC is a combination of both skilled and beginners in the art of photo editing, i think i will still share both :)

Even though I am aware of their uses of the second option, I believe that would be a good choice. Explain all the basic stuff you will possibly be doing in the future so that if you refer to something that someone may not know, you can just link back to your tutorial where you explained it.

Doing the second one will not only help out the ps new-comers, but it will also help you out in the long run.

LOVED your tutorial and also the fact that you want to make MORE!

I am so much of a beginner that I had a bit of problems understanding the masking process in your tutorial.

So I guess my vote is no surprise. I would love it if you would make a tutorial on:
1) using layer blending modes and masking for adjusting images.

Forgot one thing... I would love it if you could make the tut really detailed. So that even a "slow beginner" (like me, I guess, he-he) can get the hang of it.

The only thing I missed in the other tut, was a bit more detail when you got to the masking part, filling with black, painting etc. Just there you lost me for a little while, so I realize that in order to do this to a picture, I will need to figure that part out somehow. I'm going to print the tut though, so I can use it as a step-by-step guide.

PS is really fun, but unfortunately a little difficult to get really started with (so that you know enough to be able to start *really* experimenting on your own). It is just great that people like you are willing to help others out in getting started! Thanks a lot for that! :)

Thank you for all your comments - i actually decided to make the turorial into one.

Since i genrally use both layers, masks and curves / levels when i edit.

It could turn out to be a big tutorial, but for now im going to try to fit it into one :)
