FLATTENING WITHOUT FLATTENING!

posted by pixelbase, Dec 31, 2006 7:05 PM — 33 comments

You could do this in previous versions of PS, but it took some work.

Now, it's just one simple keyboard shortcut, and it even creates the layer for you.

Here it is (and the crowd goes wild): Mac: Apple - Option - Shift - E; PeeCee: Control - Alt - Shift - E.

You can also select an empty layer, hold ALT + go to the layer tab and in the menu select merge visible. This merges all the visible layers into the one you have selected, keeping the originals in place.

May I add something? Make sure the layer selected is an EMPTY layer, it will flatten the doc onto the selected layer so make sure it's empty so you don't lose info! =D

Also known as "Stamp Visible" ;)

You can do it for groups too, just use ctrl+alt+e only.

Hi there!

Your photo of the Little girl by window is truly inspiring. I would like to use this picture for a website specializing in publishing quality e-books for parents and children up to 11 years of age.

My website is http://www.brainycon- nections.com/

Thank you,

Lisl
