Photo download tips for SXC users
posted by vancanjay, Apr 24, 2007 3:05 PM — 1 commentsFirst of all you need to read up on the terms of use for the images. While many of the images can easily be downloaded, they still come with a licence. If you violate it, you and or your client could be sued in court. Once you have read and understood the rules for the image you wish to download (each image has different restrictions) - download away.
Since photographers are not getting paid.... PLEASE remember to at least comment on the image you take , maybe explaining how you intend to use it - it is advised to write the image number down, before you download, so you can always add a comment after the fact.
In addition to this, an email with a link or sample of the image in your work, or an explaination of how you intend to use the shot makes it all worthwhile for the photograpers, even if you are only using it for a screensaver. Many people download shots because they like them and may never use them in the future. This is the perfect time to let the photographer know how you liked their image.
Finally, rating images is nice touch as well. It is easy simple and quick.
If you need to ask questions regarding the use of an image it is best to check the terms of use and email the photographer as well. They may let you use the image in a way the violates the normal terms of use.
The key here is, if you keep the photographers happy they will upload more and more shots making it possible for you to get great photos in exchange for a quick email or comment.

Hi there,
I am new to this site and I really enjoy this effect. However, I can only see half of the tutorial... and by half i mean only the right half. I was wondering why that is or if you could help me.
Thanks so much,
Courtney
