My sister law needed a banner-like add for a project of hers. I found this http://www.sxc.hu/photo/472708 which to some extend fitted the need. The model although beautiful as she was - didn't quite fit the style - so i gave her 'little' makeover.

LEFT = My edition | Right = Original

Changes:

1) Change skintone
2) Removed dark shadows under eyes
3) Sharpened eyebrows
4) Made eyes a little bit bigger
5) Nosejob
6) Entire faced narrowed in height
7) Minor changes to chin
8) Removed skin inperfections
9) Lifted 'chest' area

All in all a lot of work but was a good practice and turned out perfect - atleast according to my sister in law :)

Final results here:

Agreed, nice work :) You should throw a tutorial out there as suggested :) I'd love to see it!

A tutorial for this specific image would be almost impossible since a lot of manual work went into it. However i will consider making a tutroial for some of the key elements - like skin tone / smoothing etc.

Thanks for the comments!

Very nice! yeah I never trust magazine pictures anymore because of the amazing touchups people apply. Like how you still made her look real and not fake as some tend to over do the changes.

There is a very thin line when working with 'airbrushin'. Too much airbrushin' create this barbie dolled look which many women sadly tries to replicate in real life by plastic surgery, botox, etc. The original idea of airbrushing was to remove errors in the initial picture, or minor skin imperfections.

And yes.. if yes everytime you see a really nice photo somewhere.. chances are that it has been edited digitally first :)

It's really well done. The chest looks bizarre though....

Her "chest lift" lifted her breasts too high.

It looks like she's got a push-up bra with the straps yanked really tight, or a bad set of implants.

But for the boobjob, love it! Extremely well done, bravissimo

i like most of it, except as others said the boob job. it seems a bit wacky and the shadows are so dark they compete with her face...

you made her look even faker than she already look, in my opinion you over air brushed her she looks like from a wax museum
