How did you get involved with photography? When did you get involved? What else do you do besides photography?
I’m french and I live near Paris. Photograph isn’t my job but my passion and my favorite hobby. I’m clinical psychologist and work in childhood's social assistance; it’s much different than photography! I adore my job; it gives me great satisfaction on a personal level, but I feel the need to escape through more creative activities. That’s why photography can make me see the world in a more beautiful way !!!
I've enjoyed photography for along time. When I was young, I made my photo albums. I have always loved taking photo and now I can’t live without it. I have a lot of things to learn for improve my skill !
Who and what inspires you artistically?
As i wrote in my sxc’s profile :
"One very gifted child i'm working with, told me once so simply :
I take pictures, to show to everyone how simple things can be beautiful, if you just look at it.
What inspires me is the world’s beauty! There is so much beauty all around the world! Seeing wonderful pictures (like on SXC for exemple) makes me try to do better and improve the composition of my pics.
I like to spend time in nature, parks, forest… to shot simple things as wildlife, flowers, landscapes, autumn or spring’s scenes… I really appreciate to immortalize these fabulous and ephemeral moments. I like playing with the lights, to create artistic and attractive effects.
Whether you are shooting outdoor landscapes or mannequins in a studio environment, there seems to be an element of fantasy throughout your images. Almost feels like we are in a fairy tale. What drives you to create these images of fantasy?
I love when landscapes looks dreamy and magical !
A picture, it’s a like poetry, it can tell you a story. My photos are instinctive, guided by the forms, textures and especially the colors ! You just have to be curious, to look around you, and to be aware.
What technical aspects are most important to creating dramatic fanatasy images? How much work is done in Photoshop to create these fantastical images?
A long time, imagination and patience!
I Sometimes use Photoshop for retouching my pics (contrast, levels, balance, imperfections, croping…).
I like to create fantasy images but I just experiment ( je tatônne, I don’t know the english expression), I’m still only an amateur trying to improve myself. It’s just for fun!
There are many more experienced photographers on the site!
What would you consider to be your ultimate photographic experience?
All photographic experiences are an amazement when I take the time to appreciate them. I can’t say which one is my ‘ultimate’, I try to get from my experiences as much pleasure as feelings and magic;
The first picture I uploaded on sxc (autumn landscape) was a great moment! I uploaded my pics on a french site for a long time, but I prefer your site to french ones because we can meet peoples of all origins, and it’s a very effective way to get your images to the outside world.
What do you see your photography heading in the future?
I would like to travel all around the world to explore, see more and more beauty and sxc enables me to do it virtually!
I wish to learn much techniques to improve myself and learn more from others.
I don’t know what comes next. I don’t usually plane my shots. Christmas is next!
I don’t have specific project, just continue to live my passion and continue to share my feelings with others people!
