"in Israel we call that cactus "tzabar" and the fruits are "sabres". the native Israeli is also called "tzabar", because we are like that cactus: fresh, resilient and we prickle :)"

"yes... lot's of super fine "spines", youmust carefully handle them so you don't stick yourself (many people use a cloth and a knife to cut it it open and pluck out the fruit inside)"
