| » | Bold Jumper This is a Bold Jumper spider. Phidippus audax. Araneae: Salticidae. I used a champagne glass to capture the spider, then shook it loose in my backyard. I photographed it for about 10 minutes, then let it go. Handsome model with crazy-colored mandibles (at least that what I think those green things are). If I was its prey, I'd probably crap my pants! Be sure to look at it up close - wierd! Shot with a Sony EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro (I think). |
