Where using a flash can be a good idea

Recently I got some rejections with the remark that the image got poor lighting or hard shadows and I should try to avoid using a flash. That made me think if there a situations where using a flash actually makes sense because of the flashlight ...

ArminH's intro

I am a curious amateur shooting to relax and have fun. Nearly all of the images may be used without restrictions. Working with computers for over 20 years now, I like to "think visual", am a macro-maniac and b&w addict.
