To pull the therapeutic characteristics of nature into your home, first ask yourself what the function of the space is. Colours and materials will change the function and feel of your room. For example, if you are trying to reach a �¢ï¿½ï¿½spa�¢ï¿½ï¿½ like feel for a bathroom you might want to focus on the serenity of the beach. Choosing natural materials and textures such as natural stone and fabrics enrich the design. Choosing colours such as brown warm tones to mimic beach wood and cool tones of blue to set the feel of the cold refreshing ocean are beneficial in achieving your goal. Another way to pull mood into a space is to find a picture you like (this beach picture for example). Focus in on the colours and materials in the image. Zoning in on the rustic natural wood, tones of grey in the sand and random flicks of vibrant colour in the sand could make a very interesting space! The outdoors are a perfect playground for any designer!
